We chose the name Magnolia because the magnolia flower symbolizes good health, stability, self-respect and hope—values we hold close in our mission to support your mental well-being.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. The successful clinician will evaluate and provide medication management, intake and crisis intervention services to adults, families and or children in a private practice outpatient clinical environment.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Current professional Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) in the state of IL required
  • Prior APN experience preferred
  • Prior behavioral health and psychiatric experience preferred
  • Computer savvy with prior EMR experience

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of psychopharmacology, evaluation and diagnosis techniques with psychopathology, counseling and therapy techniques.
  • Completes medication management and initial intake assessments as required by managed care insurance companies in order to insure insurance reimbursement.
  • Works within clinic marketing framework to build referral and client base.
  • Consults with staff and/or other external providers as appropriate in order to obtain historical collateral or other information necessary to deliver quality care.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of recognizing and assessing suicidal/homicidal ideation in order to protect clients from self-harm or harming others.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in conducting psychopharmacology sessions and effectively documenting sessions in client record within a timely fashion.
  • Utilizes assessment recommendations in completion of treatment plans; treatment interventions target specific treatment goals/objectives.
  • Thoroughly documents all session notes in a timely manner according to professional standards and accepted clinic practices.
  • Demonstrates a proficiency in understanding and implementing short-term solution focused therapy.
  • Completes treatment plan and updates in collaboration with the client and family within appropriate timeframes as required by program design.
  • Ensures that clients are linked with clinic psychiatrist in a timely fashion as appropriate.
  • Complies with clinic administrative procedures.
